Everyone Active has partnered with the Tofauti Junior Cycling Team, providing financial backing to the squad.
The team, now entitled Tofauti Everyone Active runs a squad of 18 riders, two of whom – Ella Tandy and Mari Porton – are part of the Everyone Active Sporting Champions scheme. This means, as well as the financial backing they receive as part of the Tofauti Everyone Active team, they also receive support in the form of free gym memberships where they can keep themselves in the best possible condition for competition.
Although it’s British-based, Tofauti Everyone Active competes in both road and track events all over Europe and acts as a development partner for the professional Team dsm-firmenich PostNL squad. Its main aim is to help its riders towards professional careers in the saddle.
Ella Tandy, 17 – Tofauti Everyone Active rider and Sporting Champion said:
“I’ve joined the Tofauti Everyone Active team this year. It’s a really good opportunity to go over to Spain and get some good riding in the warm weather during the British winter.
“The year ahead’s really exciting as we’ve got lots of races planned in the UK and Europe. I’m going to France in a couple of months with lots of other countries competing.
“In five years’ time, I’d really like to be riding professionally full-time with one of the best teams in the world and riding for Team GB in the World Championships and the Olympics.”
Mari Porton, 17 – Tofauti Everyone Active rider and Sporting Champion told us:
“The Sporting Champions scheme has given me free access to the Bromsgrove facilities to help me with my gym training. People such as Josie Nelson have benefitted from the scheme to get to the highest level of the sport, which is a massive inspiration to me.
“Being part of Tofauti Everyone Active over the last year and a half has given me opportunities I never thought I’d have. I’ve been taken all across Europe, to more places than I could have imagined and raced at higher levels than I once thought I would be capable of.
“This year with the team I’m really excited to carry on racing in Europe, which is something I started doing a lot last year and go to lots of the UCI events. This year I’m really looking to perform and put results out.”
