Focussing on your performance as an athlete is always a priority but it’s also important to look after yourself mentally. A vital part of that is making sure you’re cultivating a healthy personal body image as part of your training.
That’s why, as part of our Sporting Champions Mentoring sessions, we’ve teamed up with one of our Elite Athletes, multi-Paralympic Gold medal-winner, Kadeena Cox and Personal Trainer Tatum Nelson to discuss this very topic. They joined Sporting Champions Ambassador and athletics legend Colin Jackson.
Everyone can experience body image issues – especially when they’re young and athletes are no exception. Whether it’s not looking the same as your rivals or developing at a different rate to your friends, all these things can have an effect on your wellbeing – especially at an age at which your body is undergoing so many changes.
Kadeena, Tatum and Colin discuss so much around how important it is to understand your own body and to have confidence in how you look that we won’t go into it all here. Simply watch the video, enjoy and learn!
